BRIEF HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL
CIDJAP-ST. Joseph N/P wasfounded by Msgr. Prof. Obiora Ike on the 16thday of August 2015. The school was built in favourof the motherless children and orphans in Guardian Angels Motherless Babies Home and Holy Child Motherless Babies Home in Enugu Diocese. This generous gesture by the founder of the school was undertaken to meet the educational needs of the children in the above charitable homes and also to provide an opportunity for quality education for primary school children in Enugu State. The building project of the school was sponsored by the family foundation of Mr. Joseph Wiederkehr of Dietikon Swithzerland in 2015. The religious congregation of the Daughters of Mary Mother of Mercy was invited to manage the school for the Diocese with Rev. Sr. Marius Chinenye Nwahiri as the pioneer headmistress of the school.

The school is owned by the Catholic Institute for Development Justice and Peace (CIDJAP). CIDJAP is a Non Governmental Organization that is owned and managed by the Catholic Diocese of Enugu with Most. Rev. Dr. CallistusOnaga as the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese and Rev. Fr. Dr. ChineduOdinkemeluAnieke as the Director of CIDJAP.

Education is viewed as the highest source of empowerment to every child or adult. It is usually said that when a child is not informed he/she becomes deformed. Therefore, CIDJAP School looks forward to raising children that will have solid educational and moral foundation that can foster integral development and pave way for a future full of hope and success for a child. CIDJAP school also has it as one of their mission to train children to understand at their own level what justice entails and how a child could help to build a just and Christian society where structures of injustices will be strictly challenged to give room to justice and peace. It is also our mission to help in training children with sound Christian doctrines in order to dispose them to love God, live good Christian lives and above all, be law abiding good citizen of our country Nigeria.

It is with great sense of joy and honour that I welcome you all to this remarkable official opening ceremony of CIDJAP - St. Joseph Nursery and Primary School Nwannedinamba. This opening ceremony of CIDJAP School is very remarkable and special in the sense that it falls within this period of multifarious anniversary celebrations of active and fruitful service of Msgr. Prof. Obiora Ike the founder of CIDJAP. I recall with great joy 10th of April 2015, when we gathered here for the opening ceremony of a new convent and orphanage.
Today again being 8th of April 2016 we have gathered for another opening ceremony of a new school in the same venue. We thank God for his divine providence. Today, not only marks the opening ceremony of CIDJAP School, but also marks one of the important events of the week "The African Cultural Encounter" it is a day that showcases the beauty of African people and also learn more from the African culture. We are most grateful to the Almighty God who has made this day so special and splendid for all of us. On behalf of Guardian Angels Motherless Babies Home Nwannedinamba and the entire CIDJAP family, I wish to express my undiluted gratitude to Msgr. Obiora Ike whose special love and care for the Motherless and orphans led to the building of this school.
With the building of this school, the voice of the motherless children and orphans in our homes can be heard saying; He has provided us with the three essential needs of life namely: Shelter, Food and education.
Brief History of CIDJAP - St. Joseph Nursery & Primary SchoolThis school was founded and built by Msgr. prof. Obiora Ike who is also the founder of CIDJAP (Catholic Institute for Development Justice and Peace). This school was founded on the on the 16th of August 2015. He built this school to create easy access to school for the motherless children and orphans in Guardian Angels Motherless Babies Home and Holy Child Motherless Home in Enugu Diocese.
The building of this school was sponsored by the family foundation of Mr. Joseph Wiederkehr of Dietikon Switzerland in 2015. The religious congregation of the Daughters of Mary Mother of Mercy (DMMM) is to manage the school with Rev. Sr. Marius Nwahiri (DMMM) as the pioneer headmistress of the school.
Future Prospect of the SchoolThe school aims at working towards the integral development of school children both in Nursery and Primary School level. We aim at making use of those principles and values that will enhance educational, moral, psychological and religious development of our pupils. We shall explore various avenues in order to give our children solid educational foundation and training. We shall use improve pedagogical skills and equipment to enhance the quality of education in our school. We therefore, invite parents and guardians to come and register their children with us for 2016/2017 academic session. Our registration fee is quite affordable. Registration of pupils starts on 18th of April, 2016.
AppreciationsWe appreciate and thank in a very special way the Bishop of Enugu Diocese Most. Rev Dr. CVC Onaga for his fatherly love and concern in matters that has to do with human development and growth. We thank him for giving his approval for the usage of the land in Nwannedinamba for the building of this school. My Lord Bishop, we are highly grateful to you. May God bless you.
In a very special way too, we appreciate and thank immensely our revered great benefactor and philanthropist, Joseph Wiederkehr of Dietikon Switzerland whose family foundation single handedly sponsored the building of this school. We congratulate this great philanthropist. His name and good deeds remains engraved not only on the walls of this school but on the hearts of C.J.S School, CIDJAP family, Enugu Diocese and even beyond. May God bless and reward them abundantly and grant their heart desires Amen.
I want to use this opportunity to appreciate and commend the great positive impact of CIDJAP in Enugu Diocese. It is very clear that human integral development and empowerment has been their central concern throughout these 30 years of existence. I thank Prof. Obiora Francis Ike, who with great enthusiasm and commitment has been moving this institute from strength to strength. May God bless you Msgr. And reward you beyond measure, amen. I thank and congratulate all stake holders and workers in CIDJAP for their commitment towards the growth and development of this giant and noble institution.
I cannot close this chapter on gratitude without appreciating the commitment and efforts of the following people: the director of CIDJAP, Rev. Fr. Dr. Chinedu Odinkemelu Anieke, the deputy director of CIDJAP, Rev. Fr Alloysius Agu, personnel manager of CIDJAP, Mr. Goddy Ike, the architect of the school building Mr. Titus Aneke, Parish Priest of St. Domnic Parish Nwannedinamba Rev. Fr. Charles Obodo, and all the Parish members of St. Domnic Parish Nwannedinamba.
I also thank and appreciate the mother general of DMMM congregation Rev. Mother Angeleen Umezuruike for her motherly encouragement and support. I thank the Regional supervisor of DMMM congregation in Onitsha region Rev. Sr. Callistus Nwaezeakor. I also thank Rev. Sr. Lucy Ohadomere the matron and superior of DMMM convert Nwannedinamba and Rev. Sr. Cajetan Nsofor for their hard work and enormous contributions towards the growth of DMMM apostolate in Enugu Diocese.
Finally, I wish to thank and recognize once again our special guests especially the friends and associates of Msgr. Prof. Obiora Ike both at home and abroad. We thank all the friends of CIDJAP. To each and every one of you here present today, we thank and appreciate you greatly for your various contributions in making this day very special, successful and colourful.
