Catholic Institute for Development, Justice Peace and Caritas (CIDJAP) was founded on the 4th of October 1986 by Msgr. Prof. Obiora Francis Ike. The 4th of October this year marked CIDJAP at 28 and it was actually celebrated in a grand style on the 3rd of October.
The event took place at Ofuobi Africa Centre being a project of CIDJAP. It started by 10am with an animation programme that was well packaged by the general Manager of Ofuobi Africa Centre Sr. Annette Sullivan.
She made the staff to ex-ray the position of CIDJAP in the past years and its position in the present which will help the staff to know which areas they need to put more effort as to improve the work of the institute. Towards the end of the animation, there were the recommitting of the staff to the mission and vision of CIDJAP.
The animation programme was followed up with a thanksgiving mass co-celebrated by the Deputy Director Fr. Aloysius Agu, the outgoing VERBUM Network manager Fr. Gabriel Odin and the new VERBUM Network Manager, Fr. Paul Akpomie.
In the homily rendered by the Deputy Director Fr. Aloysius Agu, He thanked God for the journey so far and praised the Director for his thoughtfulness in establishing an institute that has touched many lives.
He also praised all the staff for their tireless efforts towards pushing the institute forward. He further encouraged them to continue with their good works towards the society in realization of the mission and vision of CIDJAP.
At the end, the occasion was graced with light music and refreshment.
