In a moment filled with both sorrow and gratitude, the Catholic Institute for Development, Justice and Peace (CIDJAP) joined the faithful, family and community to bid farewell to our beloved staff and mother, Late Mama Rose Anuolu, fondly called Da Rose, who was laid to rest on Saturday, 5th July 2025 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Umuorisha Emii, Owerri North, Imo State. Born in 1935, Mama Rose lived a life defined by quiet service, deep faith, and love for God. Her journey, spanning 90 impactful years, was a testimony of resilience, humility, and compassion — values she carried into her work with CIDJAP until her final days.
Representatives of CIDJAP, led by the Director of Administration Mr. Goddy Ike, traveled to Owerri North to stand in solidarity with her family, as the Church and the Umuorisha Emii community gathered to celebrate a life well-lived. The Requiem Mass at Holy Cross Catholic Church echoed with hymns of hope, as her story was recounted — not in mere words, but through the quiet tears, the fond memories, and the deep respect of all present. Mama Rose was not just a staff member; she was a mother, a mentor and a pillar of strength within the CIDJAP family. Her hands, though aged with time, never grew tired of labouring for justice and human dignity. Her gentle smile and words of encouragement will forever remain etched in our hearts.
As her casket was lowered to rest, the air was heavy, yet her legacy shines brightly. CIDJAP remains consoled by the knowledge that Da Rose’s life was a seed sown in love and the fruits of her dedication will continue to inspire the generations to come.
We pray for the peaceful repose of her soul and ask the Lord to console her family. In life, she served. In death, she remains our inspiration.
Adieu, Mama Rose. You have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, you have kept the faith. May your gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
