Conference and Seminar 2012

Within the year under review, CIDJAP has organized and participated in a number of works and seminar both within and outside Nigeria. These workshops and seminars are bothering on development, Justice, Peace building, interreligious dialogue/ Christian support and human welfare. Conferences, workshops and seminars organized or participated by CIDJAP include:

From Caritas in Veritate to Africea Munus, today’s challenges in the light of social doctrine of the church. It was organized in Cotonou on the 6th of March, 2012 by the SECAM and the Justice and Peace Commission in Africa. Mrs. Julie okenwa and Rev. Fr. Bartholomew Ihunegbo represented CIDJAP.

The Enugu Diocesan Priests Annual Seminar (EDPAS) with CIDJAP organized a workshop on the theme: Africae Munus, the Church in service to reconciliation, Justice and Peace which had all the priests of the Diocese in attendance. It was on the 31st of May 2012 at Ofuobi Africa center, Enugu Nigeria.

The Director of CIDJAP, Msgr. Obiora ike addressed the German parliament on the menace of Boko Haram in Nigeria with a projection on the ways forward. It was organized in Germany on the 14th of March 2012.

The Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency commemorated the United Nations Drug Free Day on the 26th of June 2012 at the 82 Division, Enugu. Mrs. Ebelechukwu Odinachi represented CIDJAP.

The Student union of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka organized a conference on the theme: Igbo Youths and Leadership in Crisis Times on the 10th of July 2012. Rev. Fr. Dr. Leonard Ilechukwu represented the director as the key note speaker.

The Justice Sector Reform Team of CIDJAP organized a workshop on the theme: The Reform of Existing Bail Sentencing Procedural Laws in Nigeria through a private member’s Bill. This was organized on the 10th of September, 2012 at Ofuobi Africa Center. Legal Luminaries and academic personalities were in attendance.

CIDJAP organized a seminar for the Lay faithful to step down Africae Munus for the laity on the 4th of September 2012 at Ofuobi Africa center. Priests and Lay faithful of the Diocese were in attendance.

ANABEL Group organized an international conference on Leadership between the 11th and 13th of December 2012 at Lagos. Rev. Fr. Anthony Ezekwu represented the Director at the session.
