The annual Lenten retreat of CIDJAP staff was held on Wednesday, 5th April, 2023 at Ofu Obi Africa Centre. The retreat which began at about 11am was moderated by Rev. Fr. Maurice Edeh. The retreat started with the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament for the adoration of our Lord Jesus Christ.
This was followed by confessions to prepare the retreatants to journey with our Lord in his passion and death with pure and clean hearts. At the end of the sacrament of penance, it was then time for the retreat talks. In his talks, Fr. Maurice admonished all the members to look unto Christ whose mission was to sacrifice himself for us.
Observing that there is no better time for one to have a deep introspective reflection than during lent, the retreat moderator beckons on the staff in attendance to see this as a golden opportunity to draw closer to God. He encouraged all to develop sacrificial attitude in all their dealings especially as they carry out their assigned duties in their various offices.
At the end of the talk, there was celebration of Holy Mass, which was preceded by light refreshment.
