The morning of Thursday, 26th March, 2026, broke with a quiet reverence over Holy Ghost Cathedral, Enugu, as the faithful gathered in solemn anticipation of the Cathedraticum as the Catholic Institute for Development Justice and Peace (CIDJAP) stood at the threshold of a remarkable milestone: forty years of service to humanity and the celebration of the 70th birthday of its visionary founder, Msgr. Prof. Obiora Ike.
Clad in humility yet crowned with decades of impact, Msgr. Prof. Obiora Ike led the CIDJAP family into the celebration not merely as a priest, but as a shepherd whose life has become a testimony to compassion, justice and tireless dedication to the poor.
As the CIDJAP family led by Msgr. Prof. Obiora Ike danced gently into the arena, and so too did the collective prayers of gratitude from countless lives touched by CIDJAP’s work rise to the heavens. From the forgotten prisoners who found justice, to the struggling child who discovered hope through education, to the sick who received healing, each story seemed to echo silently within the space of the arena as the staff all dressed in a beautifully written CIDJAP @ 40 polo; and at the centre of it all was a man whose heart had become a home for many, the founding Director of CIDJAP, Msgr. Prof. Obiora Ike.
