The Deputy Director of the Catholic Institute for Development Justice and Peace (CIDJAP), Rev. Fr. Chidiebere Paul Ani, participated in an international Catholic pilgrimage organised by the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN), from 11 to 23 October 2026.
Led by Rev. Fr. Nicholas Djegba, the pilgrimage took Fr. Ani to four major centres of Catholic devotion: Fátima in Portugal, Santiago de Compostela in Spain, Lourdes in France and Rome in Italy.
The journey provided opportunities for prayer, spiritual renewal, thanksgiving and reflection on the mission of the Church and its responsibility to promote faith, justice, peace and human dignity.
During the pilgrimage, Fr. Ani offered special prayers for CIDJAP, its Founder and President, Msgr. Prof. Obiora Ike, its management, staff, beneficiaries and development partners. He sought God’s continued guidance, protection, wisdom and blessings for the Institute and its work.
The visits also offered opportunities to reflect on Marian devotion, Christian discipleship, compassion for the vulnerable and the importance of putting faith into action.
The pilgrimage reaffirmed CIDJAP’s commitment to promoting human dignity, social justice, peace and sustainable development, while providing Fr. Ani with an opportunity to renew his spiritual commitment to service.
