CIDJAP Hosts Public Lecture on Inter-Religious Dialogue and Ethics

Enugu, Nigeria – The Catholic Institute for Development, Justice and Peace (CIDJAP) is pleased to announce an upcoming public lecture featuring renowned Austrian activist Prof. Dr. Elmar Kuhn.

The lecture, titled Inter-Religious Dialogue and Ethics,” will take place on Thursday, 31st October 2024, at 3:30 pm at the CST Hall at CIDJAP, Enugu.

This event aims to foster understanding and promote peaceful coexistence among various religious communities.

Prof. Dr. Elmar Kuhn, CEO of Christen in Not Austria and a respected figure in inter-religious dialogue, will share his insights and experiences, encouraging dialogue and ethical considerations in addressing contemporary societal challenges.

As a leading NGO advocating for human rights in Nigeria, CIDJAP champions the protection of Christians from all forms of persecution due to religious reasons.

Prof. Dr. Christian Okeke, Pro-Chancellor of Godfrey Okoye University, will chair the event.

A response to the lecture will be given by Prof. Dr. Christoph Stückelberger, Founding Director of Globethics Geneva and Honorary President of the Globethics Foundation.

This is one of many activities organised by the CIDJAP Academy, which offers diploma certificate programmes in Catholic Social Thought, Ethics and Development.

Rev. Msgr. Prof. Dr. Obiora Ike, President and Founding Director of CIDJAP and an International Board Member of Globethics, will preside over the event.

Following the lecture, participants will have the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions and ask questions. Testimonies from internally displaced persons and persecuted Christians and insights into religious conflicts in Nigeria will also be received.
